About Me

family

At the early part of our last century a boy and his family emigrated from Italy, as they passed under the piercing gaze of the Statue of Liberty, their minds and hearts were filled with the hopes and dreams that only the greatest country in the world could hope to fulfill. At the end of World War II, that young boy became a young man with a family. It is at this point in our story that the art of custom slipcovering began to tug at the strings of this young man’s heart. Could slipcovers be a means to aide his family in their struggle to achieve the “American Dream”? Could their quality of life be improved simply by making another person’s sofa a little prettier? Could the course of home decor be forever advanced with the addition of the humble slipcover? would the world be a better place with a slipcover on it? I say the answer is YES!

My Grandfather was the first in our family to become an apprentice and learn how to craft a slipcover. I say “craft” because that is what is happening in many of the homes of your friends and neighbors. Slipcovers are being professionally custom crafted to taste, on a daily basis. “Poppa Joe” was the first to learn, then his son, my Uncle Ron along with cousins and other uncles. I served my apprenticeship under Uncle Ron and learned at his side for fourteen years until his retirement, when my stewardship began.

Since 1985 I have continued my family’s legacy of cobbling custom slipcovers in the same meticulous manner that we have since 1949. Precisely cutting each individually measured pieces by hand. Using the same tools and techniques handed down from generation to generation. Today we continue to serve some of the areas finest local home decoration stores and top designers, as well as working directly with you.

I am married to my best friend Jennifer and have two amazing sons, Danny and Cooper and live in Trumbull Connecticut, not far from my childhood home.

Albert Schweitzer once said, “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” It may be time to bring some more happiness to your home or more color into your life. I’m not saying that the whole world can be made better by the humble slipcover, but maybe your world might. The world just might be a better place…with a slipcover on it!
